Warren C. Mosier, 81, of Fredonia died peacefully Wednesday morning (January 26, 2022) at home. He was born Feb. 7, 1940 in Silver Creek, the son of the late Lester and Anna (Chapman) Mosier. He spent his early years in Forestville, and most of his life in Fredonia.
A hard working man throughout his life, he was a bricklayer for 20 years at Roblin Steel in Dunkirk, he owned Pomfret Home Improvement, and performed custodial and maintenance at St Joseph’s Church in Fredonia.
His outspoken nature made sure he was involved wherever he was. At Roblin, he was an officer of the local United Steel Workers union No. 6599, he was Bingo Chairman for St Joseph’s Church, and was a former President of the Fredonia Beaver club.
In 1963 he married his soul mate, Nancy (Cain). A lifelong Buffalo Bills, and Yankees fan, Warren packed a lot of life in his years. In the 1950’s and 60’s he tore up the dirt tracks in Arkwright, State Line, and others. He was a bowler for many years. He loved camping and hunting, especially with his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed his morning coffee with his friends, and bingo.
In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in death by his brother, Fred; sisters, Karen (Harold) Redford and Marcina; daughter Annette (Jerry) Farr; grandson, Jeremy Long; and several nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Nancy (Cain). Always a family man, Warren is also survived by siblings, Jake (Joan), Mary (Junior) Turner, Shirley (Lance) Cave, Dickie (Marie), Tammy, Twila, Billy (Bobby), and Wilma. Daughter Brenda (Chuck) Michels, Sons Wayne (Debbie) Oyer, Carl (Karen), Dave (Mindy), and Jerry (Paula). He was also survived by his beloved Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren, along with a multitude of nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held Friday January 28th, from 4 to 7 PM, at McGraw Kowal Funeral Home on Central Ave in Dunkirk. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 29, at 11 AM at St Joseph’s Church at 145 East Main Street in Fredonia.
In lieu of flowers, the Warren and Nancy Cain Mosier Fund has been arranged at the Northern Chautauqua County Foundation to provide grants and scholarships to those in need.
