Theresa J. Rose

She was born March 28, 1938, in Fredonia, the daughter of the late Frank and Stella (Grabowski) Moscato.

A lifelong resident of Fredonia, Theresa was a graduate of Fredonia High School, class of 1957. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Theresa wed Eliot Rose on June 1, 1963, and they were married for 59 years. Theresa spent many happy years as a homemaker. She also worked alongside her husband at their family business, Fredonia Office Supply, for many years. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Theresa will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Eliot S. Rose; two children: Julie (Anthony) Valvo of Fredonia, and Gregory (Peggy) Rose of Fredonia; her sister, Lucille Moscato of Fredonia; her sister-in-law, Ruth Moscato of Fredonia; five grandchildren: Joanna (Seth) Piegate, Kimberly (Grant) Kaestner, Nicholas Rose, Thomas Rose, and Jillian Valvo; one great-granddaughter, Lydianna Piegate; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: PFC Russell Moscato, Anthony (Rita) Moscato and Louis Moscato; two sisters: Rose (Philip) Millonzi and Mary (John) Millonzi; and two infant sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Orchard and Cushing Sts., Fredonia. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Aug. 23, from 4-7 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Sheridan.
