Tacy E. Hogue

Tacy E. (English) Hogue, 70, of Dunkirk, passed away suddenly, Friday March 7, 2025 at home. Born in Allentown, PA on March 5, 1955, daughter of Shirley (Barnhart) Hedrick and the late Edwin W. English, Sr.

A graduate of Hamburg High School, Class of 1973, Tacy devoted many years of her life to serving others as a Home Health Aide for Chautauqua Opportunities.

Known for her reserved and quiet demeanor, Tacy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She cherished the time spent with her beloved grandchildren, creating treasured memories during trips to Tim Hortons.

Tacy proudly supported the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres. In addition to her enthusiasm for sports, she was an animal lover, finding comfort in the companionship of her cats. Tacy was a member of St. John’s UCC for over 35 years. In that time she taught Sunday school, sang on the choir and played in the bell choir. She also served on the church counsel during this time as well.

Survivors include her son Bradley (Jennifer) Hogue, grandchildren Aiden and Owen; mother Shirley (Barnhart) Hedrick; step-brothers Thomas and William Hedrick and cousins Jessie Bierut and Leon Pondo.

Tacy is preceded in death by her father Edwin W. English, Sr., brother Edwin W. English, Jr. and her step-father, Rev. Joseph Hedrick. 

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Funeral Services at St. John's United Church of Christ; 733 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY. on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 11 a.m. Interment in private. Arrangements by McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home; 736 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY.
