Robert James Barone 86, of Dunkirk, passed away Saturday April
6, 2024.
Born in Dunkirk, New York on April 10, 1937 the son of the late
Russell and Mary (Fadale) Barone.
Robert, a United States Navy Veteran, served his country from
1955-1958 aboard the Naval Ship, The U.S.S. YELLOWSTONE
SHENANDOAH-CLASS DESTROYER completing two tours of
the Mediterranean Coast.
Robert was an avid hunter, fishermen, skeet league and lifetime
member of the Conservation club.
Robert was an accomplished plumber working for Carlisle
Plumbing in his young years and spent 30 plus years as a
pipefitter and steel laborer at Al Tech Steel Plant in Dunkirk, NY.
Robert leaves behind his wife Donna of 53 years, Daughter Kara
(Scott). Sons, Craig (Kristy) and Shawn (Brenda) Barone.
Grandchildren Noah Hulbirt, Stacey (William) Quagliana, Olivia
Hulbirt, Christian and Kaitlyn Barone. One brother, Louis Barone
as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by
siblings Marilyn, JoAnn, Edward and twin brother Francis Barone.
Relatives and Friends are welcome to attend calling hours on Sunday,
April 14, 2024 from 2-5 p.m. at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
A Veteran Memorial Service will be conducted by the Dunkirk Joint
Veteran Council at 4:30 p.m. to honor Robert.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to our local animal
shelters humane society of your choice.
