ORCHARD PARK: Rita A. Boyland, 82, of Countryside Lane, Orchard Park, NY, formerly of Forestville, died Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Autumn View Health Care Facility, Hamburg, following a short illness. She was born in the Town of Hanover on February 10, 1940, the daughter of the late Alexander and Florence (Daminski) Ruszaj.
Rita was a graduate of Forestville Central School, Class of 1957. She worked as a Branch Manager for the former Evans National Bank Forestville, for over 20 years. Rita was previously a Teller for the former Silver Creek National Bank and worked as a Bookkeeper for the former Lake Shore Hospital in Irving. She enjoyed reading and spending time with family & friends.
Survivors include three sons Mark Boyland, of West Seneca; David Boyland, of McGraw, NY; James (Julie) Boyland, of Powder Springs, GA; and a brother, John (Janet) Ruszaj, of Blasdell. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Anna (Timothy) Riston, Mark A. Boyland, Monika Boyland, Alex (Emily) Boyland, Aaron Boyland and Allie Boyland, five great grandchildren; Paislee, Luna, Isabella, Delainee, and Nathaniel, special friends Mary Bethel, Kathleen Rutan, Pat and Mark Jackson, Krystyna Dobosz and her “partner in crime” Donna Gasper. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Robert Boyland, who died March 16, 2011 and by a sister Constance T. Laurie, who died September 4, 1985.
Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM from where Funeral Services will be held Saturday morning, February 4th at 10 o’clock with Rev. Michael Pollock, pastor of Gage Chapel Community Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Forestville Cemetery.
