Rachel A. Marczynski

Rachel A. Marczynski, 82, of Dunkirk went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday morning, July 13, 2023, while at home.

She was born Dec. 9, 1940 in Brocton, New York, the daughter of the late Bert and Mildred (Schrader) Delcamp.

A lifelong resident of the area, Rachel had been employed at Van Raalte Co. and M. Wile & Co. In later years, she was a personal care aide for COI and Willcare, as well as caring for several children in her home.

She was a life long member of Brocton Baptist Church.

Rachel loved spending time with her many grandchildren as well as gardening. She enjoyed watching Christian television programs as well as police/investigative shows, especially her favorite, The First 48. Rachel will be remembered for the enthusiasm and excitement she brought to all family gatherings. She had a strong faith in Jesus which carried her through to the end.

Survivors include one son, Michael A. (Kerri) Marczynski of Portland, New York; two daughters, Renae A. (Kevin) Banach of Fredonia, New York and Cathy A. (Ken) Dorman of Dunkirk, New York; 15 grandchildren, Tiffany Marczynski (Josh Mancuso), Stephany Marczynski (Josh Gibbs), Mikey (Poptart) Marczynski (Kayla Frost), Nicholas, Andee, Andrea, Zoe, and Cameron Marczynski. Mackenzie Sheldon, Ryan Sheldon, and Sydney Banach.

Brittany, Andra, Kenny, and Zoie Dorman; five great grandchildren, Jonathan and Josephine Marczynski, Jayde and Jace Gibbs, and Jaxon Marczynski; two sisters, Winifred Colt of Florida and Dianna (Joseph) Giambra of Brocton; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew L. Marczynski, who died June 4, 2003; one son, Andrew L. Marczynski II, on Sept. 2, 2000; four brothers; three sisters; as well as nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
