passed away on August 2, 2023. She was 96 years old.
She was born to Anthony and Jennie (Saglimben) Zaccari on January 14, 1927 in Dunkirk, New York, and she was predeceased by her husband Carl, brothers Phillip, Peter, and Frank, and her son David.
She is survived by her sister Concetta; four sons Carl, Ronald, Paul, and Thomas; five granddaughters Gina Thompson, Jessica Nasca, Kara Dunn, Elizabeth Guzzetta, and Laura Sarapochillo; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Widowed in 1959, she worked nights at Brooks Memorial hospital as a Registered Nurse and finished her nursing career as a Supervisor at the Chautauqua County Infirmary. Through her hard work and family support, she was able to put her boys through Catholic grade school, Catholic high school, and college.
She was truly an inspiration to her children, grandchildren, and all who knew her. The moral and personal support of her family was considerable and never taken for granted by her or her sons.
Her wish to stay at home as she battled Alzheimer’s was made possible by her sons Ronald, Thomas, and Paul, with continued support by her sister Concetta and with long term home care by Sandy.
