Maria M. Cheverez

Maria moved to Dunkirk at the age of 13 and attended Dunkirk Senior High School. She had a passion for helping others and worked as a Healthcare Aid for over 15 years at Petri’s in Dunkirk.

When she wasn’t working, Maria found immense joy in cooking delicious meals for her family. She always cherished every moment entertaining and spending time with friends and family. In her free time, Maria enjoyed exercising and gardening.

Survivors include her daughter Marilina Salgado and son Louis Fernandez; siblings Carmen Rodriguez, Maria S. Cheverez, Maria L. Cheverez, Josephina Colon, Julio Cheverez, Juan Cheverez, Zenaida Riesdesel; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Maria are her parents Roberto and Francisca (Salgado) Cheverez.

Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours on Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, from 12-2 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. with prayer services at 5:30 pm at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
