Linda E. Walters, 75, of Fredonia, passed away Friday afternoon (Sept.16, 2022) at home surrounded by her loving family. She had fought a long battle with cancer.
She was born June 5 1947, in Depew, the daughter of the late Edward and Josephine. (McIntyre) Hall.
An area resident most of her life, Linda was a graduate of Lancaster High School, class of 1965. She served as director of Cardio-Pulmonary Respiratory at Brooks Memorial Hospital and as a respiratory therapist at Tri Country, WCA in Jamestown, and Lanza Care Center in Erie, Pa.
Linda was an active member of the American Association of Respiratory Care, Grape Belt Seniors, and Fredonia Garden Club. She enjoyed yoga, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, downhill and cross-country skiing, traveling, long walks, cooking, arts and crafts, golf, gardening, dancing, and shopping.
She was feisty and protective of her family but she touched the hearts of many through acts of loving kindness. She was a good listener and thrived on socialization.
Survivors include her beloved husband, William J. Walters, whom she married June 27 1990; six children: Andrea (William) Regan of Indianapolis, David Baldwin of Athens, Ga., Scott Walters of Dunkirk, Brett Walters of Boulder, Colo., Brad (Alicia) Walters of Fredericksburg, Va., and Renee (Robert) Walker of Cheektowaga; nine grandchildren: Dakota, Sierra and Cameron Baldwin, Kelsey and Patrick Regan and Maria, Nicolas, Olivia and Evan Walters; and several nieces and nephews.
Private memorial services and a celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to the local SPCA.
