Leslie C. Knott

Leslie C. Knott, 93, of Sheridan died Thursday evening (Dec. 8, 2022) at the Absolut Care of Westfield.

He was born Jan. 1, 1929 in Jamestown, the son of the late Cecil and Madalyn (Ribbing) Knott.

A lifelong resident of the area, Leslie served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. He had been employed as a truck driver for American Van Lines in Jamestown.

He was a member of the American Legion Henry Mosher Post 638 in Falconer, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, and the Jamestown Moose Lodge 1681.

Survivors include his daughter, Donna J. Stern of Dunkirk; two sons, James (Marcia) Carr and Gerald (Barbara) Carr Jr., both of Dunkirk; one sister, Delores Leonard of Jamestown; four nephews, David Knott, Ronald Leonard, Gregory Leonard, and Martin Leonard; and one niece, Cindy Zindler.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean D. Knott, who died Jan. 11, 2011; one son, Thomas Carr; one brother, Roy Knott; and two granddaughters, Tricia Stern and Christy Carr.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
