Joseph T. Rossotto, 74, of Silver Creek, passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Born in Dunkirk on May 30, 1950, son of the late Joseph S. and Elizabeth (Lewis) Rossotto.
Joseph graduated from Dunkirk High School and went on to serve in the US Navy during the Vietnam War from 1971-1973. During his time in the Navy, Joe served on the USS Charles P. Cecil.
Joseph's career was a testament to his hard work and entrepreneurial spirit. He served as the Owner/Operator of the Knotty Pine Saloon in Sheridan. Additionally, he successfully managed Maiden Bay Camp in North Cobalt, ON Canada and worked at Special Metals in Dunkirk and as a Laborer for Laborers' LOCAL 210 in Buffalo.
Beyond his professional and military achievements, Joseph was known for his kindhearted nature and deep respect for others. He believed in doing everything to the best of his abilities and treated everyone with the respect they deserved.
In his leisure time, Joseph found joy in hunting and fishing, passions he eagerly shared with others. He particularly loved teaching individuals how to engage in these activities. Joe would also show off his culinary skills when he would cook his favorite dish, Tripe.
Memberships include the VFW Post 6472, American Legion, Moose Club and a lifetime membership with the Moniuszko Club.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Sharilyn Gugino-Rossotto; daughter Gina Rossotto; grandchildren Jaime Pagan and Briella Rossotto; sister Pamela Rossotto and brother Samuel Rossotto. Joe is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Joseph are his parents Joseph S. and Elizabeth (Lewis) Rossotto and brother Vincent Rossotto.
Friends and family are welcome to attend Calling Hours on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024 with Prayer Services beginning at 10 a.m. at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the Rossotto family has asked for donations to be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to a charity of one's choice.
