Jose M. Rivera Sr.

Jose M. Rivera Sr.,77, of Dunkirk, passed away Friday evening, October 11, 2024 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA. Born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico on September 6, 1947, son of the late Catalino and Carmen Melendez Rivera.

For 15 years, Jose worked as a Window Assembler in Ellenville NY, showcasing his strong work ethic and dedication. His passion extended beyond his professional life as he found joy in spending time with family, a treasured aspect of his life. Additionally, he enjoyed taking rides on his scooter and listening to salsa music. 

Jose’s easy-going nature made him well-liked by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. His kindness and great sense of humor were hallmarks of his character.

Survivors include his son Jose (Madeline) Rivera Jr.; grandchildren Cristian and Jaylene Rivera; siblings Israel, Isabel, Samuel and Gregoria. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Preceding Jose are his parents Catalino and Carmen Melendez Rivera.

Friends and family are welcome to attend Calling Hours on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home from 10-12 p.m. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
