Gary Leonhard Leber Jr., “REBEL”, 55, of Dunkirk, NY passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 23, 2024. Although it was unexpected, he passed away peacefully in his sleep. Gary was born on March 23, 1968 to Mary (Saden) Allee and Gary Leber Sr. in Dunkirk, NY. Gary married the love of his life, Lisa, on Jan. 20, 1996. Gary cherished their two daughters, Cierra and Brianna. But his greatest achievement in life was being Papa to Rory Lee, Tino and Noah Ann.
Gary was a master of his craft. On any given day you could find Gary with his toolbelt on (definitely no safety glasses) drinking ice tea, jamming to music and bringing beautiful homes, projects and ideas to life for so many. But if you asked Gary what his perfect day would be, he would probably tell you a day of golfing and grilling out on the deck, followed by taking the grandkids out for ice cream and milkshakes.
Gary was a proud member of the Dunkirk Lakeside club, and even prouder Denver Broncos fan. Gary spent many of his younger years living in Denver and a part of his soul always belonged to “out West”. Gary loved going on trips with his family and friends and over the last few years he enjoyed time in Colorado, Georgia and Texas working on friends and family’s homes.
Gary proclaimed himself to be a “Simple Man” but he was larger than life. To know him was not only to love him, but to be truly loved back. He will forever be remembered and celebrated by so many. Fly high, Free Bird. We will see you in all the beautiful sunsets you always searched for.
Gary is survived by his parents Mary (Saden) Allee and Gary Leber Sr. His wife, Lisa. His children Cierra (Eduardo) Rivera and Brianna Leber (Corey Gray). His grandchildren Rory Gray, Noah Gray and Catalino Rivera. His sister Cheryl (John) Mathews and brothers Marc Allee, Mike (Renee) Leber, and Clayton (Brittany) Allee. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Gary is predeceased by his grandparents John and Edith Saden and Frank and Dorothy Leber. His stepmother, Sandy Leber. Frank, Sally and Scott Berger, his in-laws.
Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours on Wednesday from 4-7pm at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home where funeral services will be held on Thursday morning at 10 a.m.
