Diane Stern

Diane Stern of Dunkirk NY passed away after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer,
Tuesday February 20th , with her loving family by her side .
Born in Angola NY June 14th 1953 , to the late Julian and Waleria Zurawski .
A homemaker most of her life with a passion for cooking and gardening. If she wasn’t in the
kitchen making one of her signature dishes, she would be outside taking care of her lawn and all
of the beautiful flowers. Remembered most as a loving caring person who cherished spending time
with her loved ones including her best friends Sue Michalak and Mike and Karen Tramuta .
She is survived by her children Stephanie ( Danny ) Ott , Fred ( Penney ) Stern and Valerie (
Chuck ) Locurto.
Grandchildren Dylan , Chelsae , Nicholas , Nicole, Anthony, Charles, and Brianna, Great
Grandchildren Hunter, Kolten, Eryka, Reid, Kaili, Elisa, and Mavis and many nieces and
nephews. Her Siblings George ( Sue ) Zurawski, Stan Zurawski, Paul Zurawski and Helen
(Harry) Gartley .
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Jane Molner and her loving
Husband Fred Stern whom she married April 6th 1970.

Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours TODAY from 4-7 p.m. at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Fri, Feb. 23, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
