Craig D. Fellinger, 65, of Fredonia, died Friday morning (July 29, 2022) at Brooks Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 15, 1957, in Dunkirk, the son of Phyllis (Burlett) Fellinger of Dunkirk and the late Paul R. Fellinger.
A lifelong area resident, Craig was a graduate of Dunkirk High School, class of 1975. He had been employed as a steel worker at Al Tech Specialty Steel Corp. for 24 years until its closing. He then went on to work for Carriage House and Purina until his retirement.
Craig was a member of the Moniuszko Club and an avid fan of the Orioles and Raiders.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Antoinette (Benenati) Fellinger, whom he married June 20, 1981; one son, Craig Alan Fellinger of Dallas, Texas; two sisters: Susan Reynolds of Suffolk, Va., and Gretchen (Tony) Mackowiak of Dunkirk; sister in law Amy Fellinger of Perry, Ga.; brother-in-law, Tom Samuelson of Dunkirk; mother-in-law, Concetta Benenati of Dunkirk; sister-in-law, Vera (Jim) Coughlin of Dunkirk; brother-in-law Phil (Sandi) Benenati of Wilmington, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Brian Fellinger; one sister, Sandy Samuelson; and father-in-law, Carl Benenati.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 6-8 p.m. at the McGraw- Kowal Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Aug. 3, at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Sheridan.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the local humane society or a charity of one’s choice.
