Carol M. Ozga, 80, of Dunkirk, passed away Monday, Aug. 8, 2022, at her home supported by her loving family.

She was born March 3, 1942, in Dunkirk, N.Y.

A resident of Dunkirk, Carol graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1959. She married Stanley ”Bob” Ozga April 27, 1963, in Dunkirk, N.Y., and the two had celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in April.

Carol raised their three children and worked tirelessly to support their schools through the head of the PTA and multiple fundraisers, until she purchased Dee’s Bridal shop in Dunkirk. After a few years she moved Dee’s to Main Street in Fredonia, N.Y.

Carol was a pioneer among early female business owner and dressed thousands in wedding gowns, bridesmaids and prom dresses over the decade of the 1980s.

Carol loved her family first and was especially passionate about the holidays, cooking and decorating for Easter and Christmas were her favorites.

She enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow and participate in their lives. She loved traveling with her husband and going on trips, especially visiting her daughters over the years in Atlanta, New York City, and Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

Survivors include her husband, Stanley ”Bob” Ozga of Fredonia; her three children: Robert (Margie) Ozga of Sinclairville , Lori (Patrick) McNamara of New York City, and Kristen (Tim) Sobczak of Fredonia. Her Grandchildren: Sarah Ozga, Mary Holt, Julia Ozga, Jared Ozga, Michael Holt and Chelsie Ozga. Also Christopher (Casey) Barett; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A private service at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home was held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care and Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
