Carol J. Moser, 86, of Dunkirk passed away peacefully Sunday after-noon (Dec. 18, 2022) at home surrounded by her family.
She was born Nov. 7, 1936 in Erie, Pa., the daughter of the late William and Imogene (Rowley) Bemis.
A resident of the area for most of her life, Carol had been employed at Jim’s Dry Cleaners as a bookkeeper from Feb. 1972 until her retirement in April 1994.
She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and also a member of the Sylvan Chapter 258 Order of the Eastern Star where she became matron in January 1987.
Survivors include three daughters, Laurie (James) Michaels of Dunkirk, and Peggy (Terry) Goss and Jennifer (Jason) Schrantz, both of Sheridan; one son, Michael (Kathy) Moser of Dunkirk; five grandchildren, Matthew (Christina) Goss, Elizabeth Michaels, Sarah Goss, Joel Moser, and Samantha Moser; four great grandchildren, Madison, Jacob, Tyler, and Aria; special friend and companion, Dick Ackley, his son Brian and grandson Benjamin.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick J. Moser, who died Aug. 17, 1988.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Dec. 21, from 11-2 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held immediately after the calling hours at 2 p.m. Pastor Zoe will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Fredonia. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. John’s United Church of Christ or Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care, 20 W. Fairmount Avenue, Lakewood, NY 14750.
