Barbara A. Lawson

Barbara A. Lawson, 81, of Dunkirk, passed away Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024 at the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo.

Born on March 21, 1943 in Dunkirk, Wife of the late Harold Lawson and daughter of the late Edwin and Belle (Politowski)

Graminski.

A lifelong Dunkirk resident, Barbara graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1960. Barbara worked at Ron Morse 

Trucking for a period before taking on the role of manager at Ceaseás Commis-sary in Dunkirk, 

where she served for an impressive 25 years.

In addition to her professional achievements, Barbara had a profound passion for her community and the natural beauty

that surrounded her. She volunteered for over 40 years at the Dunkirk Lighthouse, demonstrating a lifelong

commitment to preserving history and fostering a love for the local environment. She even served as the Board of Director for

the Dunkirk Historical Lighthouse and Veteran's Park Museum.

Memberships include Women of the Moose Chapter 294 and Blessed Mary Angela Church of St. Hyacinth.

Survivors include grandchildren Danielle, Kelly, and Christopher; sisters Marie (late Gary) Scott, Pauline (Joseph) Wisniewski 

and Theresa (Emilio Ciccatello) Graminski. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her step son Dale Lawson.

Friends and family are welcome to attend A Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024 at

11 a.m. at BMA Church of St. Hyacinth. Placement in St. Hyacinthás Cemetery Columbarium.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Dunkirk Lighthouse at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may

 be made to The Dunkirk Lighthouse PO Box 101 Lighthouse Point Dunkirk, NY 14048 in memory of Barbara.
