Barbara Barberich, 90, of Dunkirk died Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 4, 2023) at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Jan. 20, 1933 in Dunkirk, the daughter of the late William and Victoria (Klajbor) Matusewicz.
A lifelong resident of Dunkirk, Barbara was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church and the Dunkirk Senior Center. She worked as a crossing guard for school 5 and also worked at Brooks Memorial hospital as a housekeeper. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Thomas (Laurie) Barberich of Dunkirk; one daughter, Karen Levandoske of Dunkirk; one sister, Judy (Allen) Hollander of Dunkirk; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
]Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer J. Barberich, who died March 1, 2001; step father, John Dominiak in 1969; and her sister, Audrey Marzec.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, Oct. 8, from 2-6 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Oct. 9, at 10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
