Anthony J. Arcoraci (Tony) 86 of Dunkirk passed away on Sunday, December 1st at Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab center. He was the son of the late Carl and Matheis(Mancuso) Arcoraci.
He graduated from Fredonia High School in 1955. He served in the U.S.Army from 1957 to 1959 and was stationed in Germany. After returning home, he graduated with an Associate Degree in Industrial Engineering from Erie Community College. He went to work for Al Tech Specialty Steel in 1964 and worked there until they closed in bankruptcy. He then did merchandising for 7-Up until retiring.
He was a life member of the Dunkirk Elks Lodge and served as a member of the Dunkirk Board of Education from 1982 to 1987. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church. He enjoyed golfing and was proud of his hole-in-one in 1967 at Hillview.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty (Maziarz) Arcoraci and his 4 children, Cathy (Scott) Tadt, David (Tina Doino) Arcoraci, Lisa (Billy) Emerson, and Kevin (Renae Warren) Arcoraci. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, Eric (Evan Jones) Tadt, Katie (Jon) Pendl, Alex (Julie Vinciguerra) Tadt, Dominic Arcoraci, Matthew (Liz Heller) Arcoraci, Amanda (Shane Chilcott) Emerson, Haley Emerson, William Emerson, Benjamin Arcoraci, Veronica Arcoraci, and Joseph Arcoraci. Also survived by 4 great grandchildren and a sister Carol Sanzo.
In addition to his parents, Anthony is preceded by a brother Dennis Arcoraci and a sister Arlene Vogel.
Friends and family are welcome to attend Calling Hours on Sunday, December 8, 2024 from 2-5 p.m. at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home; 736 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church. Military Honors will be conducted by the Dunkirk Joint Veteran Council immediately following the Mass. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakeshore Humane Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
