Andre L. Edwards, age 66 of Fredonia, formerly of St. Louis, MO passed unexpectedly from heart failure on February 28, 2024. He was predeceased by his parents Ruth White & Leon Edwards

Andre was a proud Army veteran who loved this country. He had over 40 years with UPS starting as a janitor & retiring in management. Since moving to Fredonia, he was associated with ZTS Properties.

He earned a business degree from Lindenwood University while also working full time.

Andre inspired and motivated people to be better, stronger & faster in both their business & personal lives. He was quick to help anyone who needed it in any way he could. His energy & smile were contagious. He knew no strangers & captured a room just by walking into it.

He motivated and led people to always do their best. Andre loved a challenge & nothing stopped him from attaining a goal. He often said, "don't tell me what you can't do, tell me what you can do".

He accomplished so much coming from humble beginnings. Andre was determined to help mentor young people in a way to pay it forward because he felt fortunate that others helped him. Andre respected all & judged no one. His many talents included writing both poetry & prose, singing, fun impersonations, podcasting, motivational speaking, BBQ restaurant owner & even did local TV commercial.

Andre was on the board for Chautauqua County Rural Ministry and was also a member of the Beaver Club and Conservation Club.

Andre is survived by his wife, Julie Briggs Edwards of Fredonia; Children Andre Leon Edwards II, Adrian Lamar Edwards , Alexis Edwards Peters (Mark); Grandchildren Ja'Miyah, Jordan, Jada, Azalea & Anthony; Brother Jerome Sykes, Sisters Stephanie Edwards, Terra (Frank) Edwards-Jones; Stepfather Larry White, an Aunt Grace Dobbins and many cousins & extended family, including the Briggs family members.

Friends and family are welcome to attend A Celebration of Andre's Life on Sunday, March 24, 2024 from 2 to 4 pm at The Route 5 Event Center in Dunkirk.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Andre's memory to a charity of your choice.
